Homer V. Lindain, a USHS senior student, topped the second search for Ten Outstanding High School Students in Nueva Ecija (TOHSSNE), sponsored by the College of Business Administration and Accountancy, CLSU in partnership with Nueva Ecija Provincial Government. As such, Lindain was awarded with a plaque of recognition, medal, certificate, scholarship grant at La Fortuna College and cash prize of Php 1, 000.00.
Faye Victoria C. Casimero ranked second and received a plaque of recognition, medal, certificate, and cash prize of Php 500.00. Anna Lowella R. Velasco, on the other hand, who is in the top 30, was awarded with medal.
Casimero copped two special awards – Best in Panel Interview and Best in Document Presentation while Lindain got the Student Achievement award.
The top 30 students from among the many aspirants were named during the awarding ceremony on February 8, 2007 at the CBAA Conference Hall. Edward Thomas F. Joson was the guest of honor and speaker. From these 30, only the top three received plaques of recognition, and only the top 10 received cash prizes. Other awardees received medals.
Mrs. Gella Patria L. Abella and Mrs. Aileen G. De Guzman, advisers of the seniors, joined them during the awarding ceremony.
In the first TOHSSNE search in 2006, USHS also secured the first four places with Michelle Grace T. Acoba, Nikka Marie L. Cancer, Karen Ann C. Apostol and Sicilienne M. Barroga. They were also the NextGen Search top winners, with Jeremiah P. Abella, placing fifth.
