Considered as the youngest among the graduates and one of The Researcher Circulation and Section Editors, Michelle Grace T. Acoba, led Batch 2006 as 60 seniors march during the University Science High School’s Annual Recognition Program and Commencement Exercises on April 7 at the Central Luzon State University Auditorium.
Nikka Marie L. Cancer, USHS Citizens Army Training Corps Commander and The Researcher Managing Editor, graduated Salutatorian with Karen Ann C. Apostol, SBO President as First Honorable Mention and Sicilienne M. Barroga, Debate Society President, as the Second Honorable Mention. Acoba also garnered the Excellence in Science Award, the University Leadership and the Gerry Roxas Leadership Awards and the Athlete of the Year Award, while Cancer got the Excellence in Math and the Cadette of the Year Awards.
Other awardees were Markville B. Bautista, The Researcher Editor- in-chief, heir of the Journalism Award gold medallion and cash, and Jeremiah P. Abella, The Researcher Assistant Managing Editor, the Best Thesis Award recipient.
Being the Valedictorian earned Acoba the University gold medallion, St. Louis gold medallion, and Muñozonian USA plaque of recognition . On the other hand, Cancer was awarded the University silver medallion, St. Louis silver medallion,while Apostol received the University bronze medallion. Barroga was given the University bronze medallion.
Dr. Manny D. Bacolod, USHS Batch ‘87 First Honorable Mention, was welcomed by the awardees, other graduates, and Academic Honors for the lower years, as well as the administration faculty and staff members of USHS, as he was the Resource Speaker for this year’s theme “Graduates 2006: Sustaining the Tradition of Excellence” on the said much-anticipated event.
